Hanzo and Junkrat are ok but not great and Junkrat can feed the enemy at times. Bastion and Torbjorn are ok at the lower-skill end depending on how you play them but they're not very strong picks overall. I'd definitely not pick up Widowmaker until she gets some buffs right now unless you're really good with her, and even then probably avoid her so people don't complain about you in competitive constantly for no reason. However, if you can't consistently hit his primary fire shots with his low ammo pool, you're better off with something else. He's a twitchy, bursty hero that's considered the gold standard of DPS at the pro level. In DPS, avoid playing McCree if you have bad hitscan aiming. As for which characters you pick, it's mostly up to you but there are some to avoid. You don't need to be an expert with any of them persay, but you should know how their abilities work and when the ideal time to use them is.
